Full Job Description
Brandenburg Telephone Company has openings for line crew members and trouble repair/installation technicians. The applicant will assist in building and maintaining copper and fiber optic telecommunications facilities. The applicant will assist the line crew in all construction and maintenance areas of aerial/buried cable/fiber plants.
Job Type: Full-time
Experience: Entry-level, no experience necessary
Pay: starting at $15/hr ($17 after 13 continuous weeks of employment)
Pay Frequency: Biweekly
Qualifications:
Valid driver's license
Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
Ability to work in a year-round outdoor environment
Ability to perform installation and maintenance on aerial/buried cable/fiber plant
Must be able to adapt to changes in the business that include advances in technology and new skills and procedures
Basic keyboard and software skills
Must be available for flexible scheduling, holidays, after-hours, and callouts
Physical Requirements:
Climbing poles and ladders
Frequent lifting up to 75 pounds
Pushing, reaching, bending, and stooping
Manual dexterity
Good sense of balance
Ability to stand or sit for long periods and good color vision
